KY INBRE Electron Microscopy Workshop hosted by the EMC at the University of Kentucky

The Electron Microscopy Center recently hosted the KY INBRE Electron Microscopy Workshop, held on campus at the Gatton Student Center. The goal of KY INBRE is to develop a network of support for biomedical researchers and educators within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The purpose of the network is to develop infrastructure and capacity for biomedical research and training in the state.

Over 100 researchers attended the workshop, both in person and remotely, and 14 researchers (mostly students) presented the results of the work they conducted this past year using KY INBRE funding for electron microscopy. In addition to these presentations and a tour of the EMC labs, staff members from the electron microscopy core facilities at the University of Louisville, Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky gave overviews of their labs, offered “tips and tricks” and general advice in electron microscopy.
